OH WHAT A NIGHT! A Musical Tribute To Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons 2014 TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO AUSTRALIA TOUR |
"...a marvellous crowd-pleasing show. Truly the epitome of professionalism"
Direct from Las Vegas comes the triumphant return to Australia of the critically-acclaimed Musical Tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, OH WHAT A NIGHT! promises and delivers an incredible evening of entertainment. OH WHAT A NIGHT! features a talented group of performers who look, act and sound just as amazing as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons did so many years ago. Written by Independent Motown producer and creative consultant GEORGE SOLOMON and award-winning producer/director MICHAEL CHAPMAN with choreography by PAUL HOLMQUIST. The cast also includes JOE CONTI, RICK MORGAN and NICK PETRIS. OH WHAT A NIGHT! is the perfect way to re-live the magic of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, or enjoy it for the very first time. During the show you will get the chance to re-live hit tunes like "Walk Like A Man", "Oh What A Night!", "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You", "My Eyes Adored You", "Let's Hang On", "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Grease", "Working My Way Back To You", "Who Loves You" and many others hits from the dynamic songbook from those boys from Jersey, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. OH WHAT A NIGHT! toured Australia's East Coast for the first time 2011 - the planned 24 tour dates exceeded all expectations resulting in an extended 54 sell-out performances over 3 months. The end result is a show as fresh and relevant today as it is nostalgic for the purists. Audiences will get to know and love the four dynamic talents and cheer them on with each exciting, individual performance. This exhilarating musical has been thrilling audiences worldwide with great choreography, boundless energy, humour and, of course, instantly recognisable classic pop songs that make this show indeed....OH WHAT A NIGHT! THE CAST OF OH WHAT A NIGHT! GEORGE SOLOMON, who is also the writer of OH WHAT A NIGHT!, began performing professionally at age fifteen. Born and raised in a small town near Pittsburgh called Monongahela, he left home right out of high school and moved to New York City where, in a short time, he went on to receive the "New York Drama Critics Award for Best Actor" in Neil Simon’s "Come Blow Your Horn". George has had the good fortune to perform with, and/or write for, a variety of major stars including Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Harry Connick Jr., Liza Minnelli, and many others. George has been profiled on TV’s Entertainment Tonight and CNN's Showbiz Today. He headlines in his own exciting one-man variety show, which has received much critical acclaim and has been delighting audiences worldwide. George is also a producer, production consultant and historian for Motown/Universal. As part of the production team along with director Michael Chapman and choreographer Paul Holmquist, George also wrote and appears in "Supreme Reflections - A Loving Tribute to Diana Ross & The Supremes". JOE CONTI is a real Jersey boy having been born in Englewood, New Jersey. His theatre credits include "Footloose", "The Wedding Singer", 'West Side Story", "Cabaret", "Thoroughly Modern Millie", "South Pacific" and "Godspell". Film and television credits include "Bear City", "Law And Order: SVU" and "As The World Turns". PAUL HOLMQUIST, who is also the choreographer of OH WHAT A NIGHT! - A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FRANKIE VALLI & THE FOUR SEASONS, began his professional performing career appearing at Disneyland in the United States as one of the Kids of the Kingdom. This led to a long run at Tokyo Disneyland as well as at Sanrio Puroland, another of Japan’s multi-million dollar theme parks. During his six years in Tokyo, he appeared in numerous television commercials and print ads, in addition to many roles in TV dramas and made-for-TV movies. Paul has appeared in and/or choreographed a score of memorable musicals including A CHORUS LINE, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, CATS, CRAZY FOR YOU, GUYS AND DOLLS, HELLO DOLLY, LES MISERABLES, OKLAHOMA, THE PAJAMA GAME, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, THE SECRET GARDEN, THE MUSIC MAN, WEST SIDE STORY, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, GIGI, and ME AND MY GIRL. Paul loved creating the choreography for OH WHAT A NIGHT! - A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FRANKIE VALLI AND THE FOUR SEASONS as it gave him the opportunity to blend contemporary movement with a classic pop-rock retro style.
RICK MORGAN grew up in Tucson, Arizona where, at an early age, he studied at the France Academy of Dance. He began performing professionally at the age of fourteen, playing the role of the Artful Dodger in the musical OLIVER. DIRECTOR - MICHAEL CHAPMAN, producer/director, began performing professionally at age seven as a child prodigy from a musical family. One of his earliest acclaimed shows, THE CURTAIN CALLS, was a contemporary musical-comedy vaudeville act featured on the Golden Globe Awards and it introduced him to national television audiences. His enormously popular hit show HIDDEN BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS! played to packed houses and won numerous theatrical awards. As the original producer/director of New York's longest running hit musical satire, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, Michael continues to be a dynamic influence in the industry. Utilizing his extensive experience as a producer/director together with being an accomplished pianist and musical arranger, he has created shows ranging from a musical-comedy re-enactment of a live radio presentation, which appeared at Carnegie Hall, to large-scale musicals and corporate events with casts of hundreds at New York's Lincoln Center. Michael further enjoys coaching privately and has been on the staff of UCLA conducting classes in performing and auditioning. Michael collaborated in creating OH WHAT A NIGHT! - A Musical Tribute To Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons with Motown producer/writer, George Solomon and choreographer, Paul Holmquist. This production team creates musical shows and headlining acts including SUPREME REFLECTIONS – A LOVING TRIBUTE TO DIANA ROSS & THE SUPREMES. |
