Profile

The Kevin Bloody Wilson Show is not just a concert performance, for most, it’s a full-on Event! and an opportunity to tick from your bucket-list a chance to see Australia’s most unique International comedy legend.

If we were asked to nominate one individual to best define Australian humour, for most of us, the name Kevin Bloody Wilson immediately springs to mind. His recently released biography ‘DILLIGAF, The Life And Rhymes Of Kevin Bloody Wilson’ is a raucous, earthy, in depth look at perhaps one of the only Australian Comedians who has not bowed to the pressures of political correctness.

Kevin Bloody Wilson’s story is remarkable. He has become a part of Australian Culture, a part of who we are and how we define ourselves. His DILLIGAF attitude is a quality to be envied.

He’s been listed in Who’s Who, his entire body of work has been preserved for future generations with the National Film and Sound Archive in Canberra and his fan base stretches from Broken Hill to Buckingham Palace.

It’s also a known fact that nobody tells Australian stories better than Kevin Bloody Wilson. His peers agree;

“The world’s funniest Australian” Billy Connolly

“I love Kev. My favourite is Livin’ Next Door To Alan.” Paul Hogan

“Hello John, is the funniest song I’ve ever heard in my entire radio career.” John Laws

Kevin bloody Wilson is also the only international artist who can shift seamlessly between an outback pub to the hallowed halls of the London Palladium. Hot on the heels of sellout South African tour, where his average audience exceeded 2000, Kev is now heading back to Australia to recharge his batteries.

His record sales are now nudging the four million mark. Without traditional media support, all of Kevin Bloody Wilson’s albums and DVDs have achieved Gold Sales status globally, with many reaching Platinum, and one, ‘Kev’s Back’, awarded an amazing quadruple Platinum. Kev’s recordings can be found in such diverse locations as Outback Australia to Antarctica. From Big-Rig road trains to the console of Prince Charles’ Aston Martin.

It seems ironic that twenty-five years ago, Kevin Bloody Wilson was being arrested for performing his songs in public, yet on Australia Day in January 2010, he was officially nominated for Australian Of The Year for doing exactly the same thing.

Well done Kev, you’ve done us proud.

Don’t miss the legend in a club near you – Kev’s ‘Goin Bush’, and you are the winner!

DO NOT MISS OUT!!!

INTRODUCING KEVIN BLOODY WILSON

Kevin Bloody Wilson has been described as one of the funniest and most original singer/songwriters of our generation - and is regarded as Australia’s favourite larrikin.

His songs are as unique as the man himself, with an insight and singalong quality that appeals to all ages and races. They completely cross international boundaries and cultural backgrounds. You’re bound to recognise either yourself or someone you know in a Kevin Bloody Wilson song. His songs are not written with saccharin-sweetened ink and they sound as they are meant to sound. His humour is as hard and dry as his outback heritage. This unique humour was a proven hit with such avid listeners as the late Kerry Packer to tennis stars Lleyton Hewitt and Pat Rafter.

The Kevin Bloody Wilson story started in his hometown of Kalgoorlie with Kev simply performing self-penned compositions for his mates and buddies in bar rooms, pool halls and pubs. In just a few short years, and largely by word of mouth, Kev now plays to sell-out concert venues worldwide. His bar stool philosophies, humour and values have translated instantly and readily from those early outback beginnings to the world’s most prestigious venues, including Las Vegas and the London Palladium, and have earned him hundreds of thousands of loyal fans.

Such has been the phenomenal success of Australia’s outback outlaw, Kevin Bloody Wilson, and his unbelievable popularity, it has propelled him from the outback to international cult status. And yet Kevin Bloody Wilson still writes all his own songs, still doesn’t own a necktie and remains as down-to-earth and as irreverent now as he was in the beginning.

Kevin Bloody Wilson has built up an enormous cult following simply by word of mouth - friends telling friends.

As well as a rigorous travelling schedule Kevin Bloody Wilson has always surfed the cutting edge of technology and now owns a complete commercial recording studio complex. He is also considered an internet pioneer having had a web presence since 1993, the first Australian artist to do so. His internet radio station, kevfm.com, is also the world’s first 24x7 adult comedy radio station attracting in excess of 450,000 hits per week worldwide.

Furtune favours the bold.....and the risk paid off. World tours, album sales and critical acclaim led to Kevin Bloody Wilson becoming a true Australian icon. For a man who is passionate about the bush, the country and its people, surely there is no greater accolade?

It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Kevin Bloody Wilson emerged from his former life as a Kalgoorlie electrician to become the comedian whose cassettes every school kid loved to listen to behind their parents backs. The funny thing is, the parents often had their own copy playing at home while the kids were away!! Kev has always managed to make people laugh, really laugh, the sort of laugh that comes when you know you shouldn’t be laughing but you just can’t help it.

Kev’s brand of uniquely Australian humour has made him an absolute f*****’ legend both in Australia and overseas, and 3-million album sales and thousands of live shows later, it’s time to celebrate and reflect on Kev’s incredible body of work with the release of Kevin Bloody Wilson’s new double CD “20 Years Of Kev”.

Those who are easily offended will make it approximately seventeen seconds into the opening track “I Gave Up Wanking”before they have a coronary. From then on you can expect to be laughing out loud all the way through two decades of hits, including “Manuel The Bandito”, “Grandad’s Got A Bone”and the crowd favourite “Hey Santa Claus”to name but a few.

There is a least one hit from each of Kev’s 13 albums on the 1st disc, reminding the listener just how on-the-mark Kev’s humour has been for the last two decades.

The 2nd disc contains 10 live tracks including “You Can’t Say **** In Canada”, “DILLIGAF”, “The Browneye Medley”, and arguably the most popular song Kevin Bloody Wilson has released to date, “Livin’ Next Door To Alan”. After all of that you may well need to lie down and hold your stomach for a while, but wait, there’s more......

The bonus track on “20 Years Of Kev” is a rousing rendition of “Rootin’ In The Back Of The Ute” performed by Dave Gleeson and The Stilsons. Dave Gleeson says he instantly became a Kevin Bloody Wilson fan the first time he heard “Hey Santa Claus”. “I had all the Kev albums, then years later when I had my own band, The Screaming Jets, and having been a big Kevin Bloody Wilson fan for years, I had no qualms about writing a song which included a breakdown that went “You Fat Rich *****”.
